I've been writing for as long as I can remember, and I've always wanted to write. I'm a short story writer at heart - I like the challenge of a short word count, I like the chance to move on to new characters and new settings with relative ease, and, honestly, I don't have the patience to write a novel - I get bored when I know what's coming up! I've had a couple of short stories published, done some online reviewing, and been part of a group who co-authored a novel.

I work two jobs at the moment, one managing a community centre, the other as a domestic violence and abuse training coordinator, both of which are interesting and challenging in their own (very different) ways. I'm a graduate of the University of Warwick with a BA(Hons) in Education Studies and of the University of Bristol with an MSc in Sociology, having done my dissertation in peer perceptions of date rape victims. I live alone and, contrary to steretypes (and because I live in a second floor flat) I don't have a cat.

This journal is a repository of short stories I've written before, a place for me to post anything that I don't intend to submit for publication, and an announcement site for anything I do get published.
